Kelly Wise is the Director of People and Culture for Grantmakers for Effective Organizations and a seasoned HR professional with experience in change management, administration, and operations.

Before joining GEO, she worked as an HR consultant delivering high-level assistance and guidance to an expanding client base. She introduced innovative HR management solutions, strategies and initiatives to strengthen operational efficiency and support the growing needs of client business endeavors. Prior to her consulting work, she served in several leadership roles including Program Director at the Prince George’s County YMCA, VP of Operations and Administration at Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce and most recently (for more than a decade), Senior Director of Human Resources and Administration at SOS Children’s Villages-USA. During her time at SOS, she directed and coordinated innovative recruitment, onboarding and professional development initiatives, established improvements to policies, procedures and practices relating to personnel matters. She also executed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evaluated employee performance to strengthen operations, enrich skill sets, and create highly-productive teams positioned to excel.

Kelly is an active member of Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and enjoys spending time with her family and riding her bicycle when she is not working to promote and produce positive and equitable work cultures.
