The role combines strategic thinking, project management and hands-on communications work, from writing and editing to digital media, web and email platforms.

GEO offers rich and comprehensive benefits to support the well-being of our staff. Employees who work 30 or more hours are eligible for several benefits.
Employees and their legal spouses, domestic partners and dependent children are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage. Our medical insurance includes virtual visits, mental health services and more. GEO covers 100% of medical insurance premiums for employees and 80% for spouses, domestic partners and dependent children.
All full-time employees are eligible for a 403(b) retirement plan and may make voluntary contributions immediately. Beginning on the first day of the month following six months of employment, GEO contributes 7% of an employee’s compensation to their retirement account.
GEO provides 15 days of paid annual leave (vacation), increasing to 20 days after two years of employment; 12 days of paid wellness (sick) leave; and paid parental leave with no waiting period.
GEO recognizes most federal holidays, including New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, DC Emancipation Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving.
GEO also closes for one week during the summer and the last two weeks of December for seasonal breaks. Employees additionally receive three floating holidays per year.
After 30 days of employment, employees are eligible for up to $100 per month in Metro SmartBenefits or parking reimbursement.
After 30 days of employment, GEO offers an annual wellness benefit to support activities and services such as yoga classes, Pilates, art therapy, race registrations, gym memberships, therapy sessions, massages, nutrition counseling, personal training, fitness gadgets and equipment. The benefit amount is confirmed and paid to eligible employees at the beginning of each calendar year.
GEO offers an annual professional development stipend to help staff meet organization-wide goals, as well as funding for external training opportunities.
Additional benefits include life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and short- and long-term disability insurance for all employees. All GEO staff also have access to an on-site gym and locker room at no additional cost.
