ABFE’s Harambee 2024 Conference

Event Details

Ten years have passed since the murder of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, a moment that captured the world’s attention, sparked global outrage, and revealed deep-seated racial injustices, leading to significant civic activism and policy reforms. The fight for racial justice in Missouri predates this, with historical events like the Dred Scott case of 1857 in St. Louis highlighting long-standing challenges. Harambee will honor leaders working towards racial equity, reflecting on a city that has been central to the struggle for civil rights for centuries.

Join ABFE in the vibrant and historically significant city of St. Louis, Missouri. The Harambee Conference has a rich history of fostering collaboration, sparking innovation, and nurturing community engagement.

GEO will lead a session to ground participants on the topic of community-driven philanthropy. The time will be spent sharing stories, bringing the lived experience of participants into the conversation, and provide a spectrum tool to help locate commitments to community across a spectrum of power sharing.

Start: Wednesday, April 24, 9:00 AM Eastern
