Javon Averett is an experienced operations professional with a passion for driving organizational excellence and impactful social change. He joins Grantmakers for Effective Organizations as the Operations Manager, bringing with him a rich background in managing internal operations, IT performance systems, and strategic initiatives. Previously, Javon served as the Senior Manager of Operations at Mighty Earth, where he was instrumental in streamlining office management and collaborating with consultants to ensure the organization’s smooth functioning. One of his standout achievements at Mighty Earth was the development of international travel safety protocols and an online portal that enhanced staff safety during global assignments.
Javon’s dedication to addressing important issues like voting rights, climate change, clean energy, and deforestation has shaped his career. He has partnered with a variety of foundations, philanthropists, civil society organizations, and government agencies to advance these causes. Notably, in 2020, he contributed to Michelle Obama’s “When We All Vote” initiative, which sought to increase voter participation by shifting the culture around voting.
With a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a BA in Healthcare Management from the University of South Alabama, Javon is dedicated to making a meaningful impact through his work. He now resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
