2025 asked something different of us. Federal funding rollbacks, executive actions and a volatile political climate put tremendous pressure on the nonprofits and communities at the core of our collective work. Through it all, the GEO community remained steadfast for racial equity, put solidarity into practice and continued to make meaningful shifts in philanthropic practice.
The 2025 Annual Report highlights how the GEO community showed up throughout the year. We created opportunities for grantmakers to learn, connect and practice; offered timely resources and practical support amid mounting challenges; and continued our work to advance racial equity and better support nonprofits and communities. We also share findings from the 2025 National Study of Philanthropic Practice, showing where progress has been made and where philanthropy still has opportunities for growth.
