Community & Partner Call: Building Resilience in Uncertain Times (Members Only)

Nonprofits are known for doubling down and showing up when their communities need them the most. From the pandemic to renewed calls for racial justice to ongoing political uncertainty, nonprofits have remained steadfast in their commitment to providing critical services, cultural richness, and jobs that contribute to the local economy. Nonprofits and funders are aligned on their goals to achieve lasting community prosperity. How do we continue exploring alignment with a new administration in office,  when uncertainty is the only thing we’re certain of?

Many nonprofit leaders are looking for ways to build financial resilience so their organizations can weather both known and unknown economic impacts over the next few years. They know that being prepared for any outcome is critical to the health and wellbeing of the people who walk through their doors. We will have time to get to know your peers in the community and learn some practical content during this challenging time.

Join us and our community partner, Nonprofit Finance Fund, as we work with community-centered organizations, networks, organizers, funders, and other lenders that support community-led solutions. Together with our partners, we can collectively advance more equitable outcomes.

Rakiba Kibria

Rakiba Kibria (she/her) is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader, strategist, and fundraiser with over 16 years of experience mobilizing resources for transformative social change. She currently serves as Vice President of Resource Development at Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF), where she leads bold partnership strategies to unlock catalytic capital for environmental justice, racial equity, grassroots leadership, and community wealth and wellbeing.

Rakiba’s career spans leadership roles at Common Future, Good Shepherd Services, and The DOME Project where she has moved $100M+ into community-led initiatives. She is a 2022–2023 fellow of the Just Economy Institute (JEI), where she explored the intersection of Islamic finance and justice through a creative capital project. Across her work with philanthropy, impact investors, and community stakeholders, Rakiba is known as a thoughtful matchmaker of capital and vision — bringing care, curiosity, and co-creation to every table she joins.

Rooted in Queens, New York and grounded in her Bangladeshi heritage, Rakiba channels ancestral wisdom from a lineage of farmers, educators, healers, and freedom fighters. Her work is infused with fire and focus — always in service of legacy. She believes philanthropy and impact investing have the power and responsibility to act as risk capital in repairing the historic and ongoing harm of extraction, exploitation, and systemic injustice.

When she’s not activating resources or designing bold funding strategies, Rakiba finds joy in nature, play, and nurturing her children’s imaginations — always dreaming toward futures that will outlive her.

Rakiba holds a B.A. in International Development and Economics from American University and an M.S. in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University, where she also served as an associate instructor.
