Exponent Philanthropy’s 2026 Annual Conference is a national gathering designed for and by lean funders — those giving with few or no staff. The conference provides space for philanthropic leaders to connect and explore timely, equity-centered practices to amplify their impact.
During the conference, GEO will present a breakout session on equitable governance to explore how boards can move beyond standard fiduciary compliance to center community and values at every turn. Drawing on GEO’s publication, Toward Meaningful, Valuable, Equitable Governance, participants will examine real-world case stories and practical frameworks to build trust, default to transparency and foster authentic partnerships between board and staff.
