Embedding Effective Practice Remote Learning Series

Embedding Effective Practice is a five-part virtual program that brings peers together to explore effective grantmaking practices that foster stronger, more equitable partnerships with nonprofits and communities—including capacity building, community-driven philanthropy, organizational culture, and learning and evaluation.

Together, we’ll explore the culture of philanthropy—its historical roots and continued impact—and learn how to adopt practices that center community, shift power, and support lasting impact.

Registration is open now until Tuesday, September 16 or once we reach 50 participants, whichever comes first.

To get a sneak peek at what the series has to offer, join us for an informational webinar on Wednesday, September 3 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm ET. Register here.

Participants will:

  • Reflect on the historical roots of philanthropy and its continued impact
  • Explore practices that build trust, shift power, and strengthen relationships with grantees and communities
  • Connect with peers in a supportive learning community to share challenges, ideas, and solutions
  • Apply tools, resources, and fresh insights to their daily work
  • Build momentum for change through peer coaching, interactive sessions, and real-time reflection

Program Highlights:

  • Five online sessions + assigned readings and discussion prompts
  • GEO’s latest research and tools on effective grantmaking
  • Exploration of key topics like capacity building, community-driven philanthropy, organizational culture, and learning and evaluation
  • Peer coaching and intentionally designed peer assist groups according to job function and experience to serve as your “home base” throughout the series
  • Opportunities to share your experience and learn from others in the field

Whether you’re looking to challenge old assumptions, scale promising practices, or simply learn in community with others on the journey, Embedding Effective Practice will equip you to lead change from wherever you sit.
