The Learning Conference 2017 Networking Opportunities

Through both formal and informal activities, GEO conferences offer a great opportunity for participants to make connections with their peers, hear fresh ideas and ask questions related to shared challenges.

Check out the participant roster to see which of your peers will be in Chicago.

Ambassador Program

In the spirit of learning with others and making meaningful connections within our community, GEO offers an Ambassador Program during conferences to help deepen participants’ networking experiences. This program brings together new conference participants, or those new to GEO, with more seasoned GEO members. Make the most of our conferences by tapping the knowledge of an experienced colleague who is similarly committed to nonprofit results. Or, if you’ve attended GEO conferences in the past, please volunteer to welcome first-timers and expand your network at the same time. For more information, please contact membership@geofunders.org.

Fail Fest and Evening Reception

Back by popular demand, the Fail Fest and Evening Reception offers the opportunity to hear from peers as they courageously share stories about learning from failure and affirming the value of taking risks. Raise your glass to and hear grantmakers share candid stories of their favorite failures and hard lessons learned.

Peer-Hosted Events

Join your fellow participants in peer-hosted conversations taking place during unprogrammed portions of the conference. These discussions are posted in the online program and conference app and are updated regularly. If you’d like to host a discussion, please contact registration@geofunders.org.

Dine Arounds

Host or join a group of your colleagues for dinner and informal conversation. Sign-up sheets will be available on-site at the conference registration desk.

Networking Breaks

The conference schedule offers informal and formal networking breaks throughout the two days so that participants have ample time to schedule meetings or simply catch up with peers.
