Blake Jones currently serves as a senior manager for Grantmakers for Effective Organizations. In this role, he acts as a champion for customer service at GEO, overseeing the logistics and participant experience for GEO’s renowned conferences and ensuring that members have high-quality interactions with GEO.
Prior to joining GEO, Blake served as special projects manager at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, a jazz education organization, where he managed all donor-interfacing aspects of Institute events, including its International Jazz Competition and the annual International Jazz Day concerts. Blake also gained special events and logistics experience during tenures with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Prior to coming to Washington, D.C., Blake held positions with the University of Alabama and Ketchum Public Relations. His responsibilities included logistics coordination for University-sponsored informational seminars, managing local events and media outreach for various Ketchum clients, and developing communications materials. Blake holds a master’s degree in arts management from American University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Alabama. Outside of the office, he enjoys college football, biking and traveling.
