Expanding the Bench in Evaluation

Would the philanthropic field benefit from increasing the inclusion of evaluators of color in evaluation practice?

Event Details

Would the philanthropic field benefit from increasing the inclusion of evaluators of color in evaluation practice?

The Annie E. Casey Foundation believes so. The foundation also believes that by increasing the number of social sector evaluators from underrepresented communities, grantmakers increase the likelihood of methods, analyses and interpretation that offer more relevance, application and, ultimately, benefit to communities.

With an initiative called Expanding the Bench®, the foundation has leveraged the talents of academically trained researchers and experienced evaluators from underrepresented communities through two programs: Leaders in Equitable Evaluation and Diversity (LEEAD) and the Advancing Collaborative Evaluation (ACE) Network.

Participate in a GEO member call on December 5, 2018, to learn more about the initiative, hear the Casey Foundation’s lessons learned and to contribute your own stories and efforts to hire evaluators from underrepresented communities. Together, we’ll brainstorm ideas for addressing questions about how to build demand for new practices and approaches in philanthropy.

Start: Wednesday, December 5, 3:00 PM Eastern

End: Wednesday, December 5, 4:15 PM Eastern
