Exploring Your Culture To Effectively Reach Your Mission

Join GEO and Philanthropy California to identify several next steps you can take to shift unproductive culture or tend to productive elements of your organization’s culture.

Event Details

Grantmaking that truly supports nonprofits and the communities they serve requires a deep understanding of organizational culture and its connection to nonprofit success. But how we initiate conversations about culture within our organizations, and how we make the connection to our external work, is not always clear.

Through individual reflection, peer coaching, and small group discussion, this intimate, hands-on workshop will help you understand and begin to assess your current organizational culture and how it impacts your effectiveness and the success of your nonprofit partners. This workshop is the first of many steps you can take to begin to work on your culture and is best suited for organizations that are prepared to or have already dedicated time and resources to improving culture. You will walk away with tools to be able to initiate culture conversations within your organization, and while this workshop is open to individuals, we strongly encourage you to attend with your colleagues.

We’ll tackle the essential elements of shaping a productive culture, helping you to:

  • understand GEO’s culture framework and where your organization falls on that continuum;
  • develop a better understanding of your existing organizational culture; and
  • explore your current and aspired organizational culture related to a specific organizational goal, challenge or opportunity.

Start: Wednesday, November 8, 9:00 AM Pacific

End: Wednesday, November 8, 3:30 PM Pacific

This six-hour, interactive is designed for mid- to senior-level leaders who are at the early stages of thinking about their organizational culture and how they might shift it to better support organizational goals.

This workshop will be held at La Kretz Innovation Campus (Training Center Room #401), 525 S. Hewitt Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
