Engage for Results Seminars:

In today’s economy, it’s critical to be strategic about your grantmaking dollars. Your grantmaking budget is shrinking just when your grantee organizations need your support most. It’s critical to work with them to make sure your limited grantmaking dollars can help where it’s most needed. GEO is here to help with a two-day skill-building seminar designed specifically for grantmakers.

"It was great to get away from daily work and gain perspective on how to cope with the power dynamic of grantee relationships."
- attendee feedback

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations has partnered with experts in collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement, The Interaction Institute for Social Change, to design a two-day learning experience just for grantmakers. By attending, you will come away with the tools and skills necessary to authentically incorporate nonprofit and community experience and perspective into your grantmaking. Specifically, you will learn:

  • The benefits and impact of inclusive grantmaking
  • The criteria for effective stakeholder engagement within philanthropy
  • The appropriate balance between results, process and relationship
  • How to identify and engage stakeholders in decision-making in transparent and strategic ways that take into account power dynamics

Who should attend this seminar?
This seminar is ideal for senior and mid-level staff responsible for grantmaking. We highly encourage you to send two-person teams. This enables team members to support each other in implementing what they’ve learned when they go back to their organization.
