Supporting Grantmakers’ Efforts to Improve Practice

GEO offers an array of peer learning opportunities that bring grantmakers together to advance efforts toward smarter grantmaking and stronger nonprofits.

Action Learning Groups

GEO's convenings drive practice improvement by bringing together grantmakers to address pressing challenges and burning improvement goals. Participants learn how their peers are creating change and translate collective lessons into immediate advances in their own work. GEO supports each group for an extended period of time to ensure that participants can translate the experience into real change. (Open to GEO members only!) + more

Engage for Results

The popular GEO publication, Do Nothing About Me Without Me, underscored the value of engaging diverse stakeholders in grantmaking and described some of the practices grantmakers can adopt to help ensure that they are effectively working in partnership with nonprofit leaders, community members and others. Building on the publication, this seminar provides grantmakers with the tools and skills necessary to incorporate nonprofit and community experience and perspective into their grantmaking. + more
