CONVENE
GEO pursues its mission to advance the effectiveness of grantmakers and their grantees in a number of ways, including building a community of practice that expands the resources available on nonprofit effectiveness. The following convenings support this part of our mission.
GEO's National Conference takes place every other year. Our next national conference will be in the spring of 2010, exact dates and location to be determined.
Topical Conferences. In our "off" years, GEO convenes smaller topical conferences, including:

Leveraging What you Know: Knowledge Management Strategies for Funders (Seattle, WA, 2004). Program, pre-readings, copies of the session presentations and handouts.
Facilitated Dialogues. In addition, and often in partnership with regional associations, GEO facilitates discussions with smaller groups of grantmakers on such topics as leadership development or organizational learning.
